I wish the *istD had the highlight alert/flashing. I also wish that I could zoom in on part of an image and get a histogram on just that crop. That would be extremely helpful, especially in high contrast/backlighting situations. The autorotate sensor was a major oversight if you ask me.

Over-exposure is a problem and the *ist D doesn't have over-exposure indicator on image review. I'm sure it could be implemented in firmware but they just haven't bothered to date, maybe the Baby D with have it. The Canon 300D has it (Highlight Alert) and it has a rotation sensor.
