The histogram needs to reflect all the in camera settings for other than RAW capture but it does appear to be affected by the camera settings when shooting RAW too (as suggested by John). The histogram of a RAW file in both the Adobe RAW import plugin and the Pentax stand alone convertor is affected by the "exposure/sensitivity" adjustment control so even they don't provide an option to display the histogram of the actual data captured pre-processing. I still find the in camera histogram extremely useful as a guide to setting exposure however.
