Well.
Pentax *has* a DSLR.
It can use the lenses you already have.
So, the question is, do you like the instrument they currently offer?
Since money isn't flowing freely for you, isn't this a more attractive prospect 
than buying another brand of SLR *and* a new set of lenses? Also, wouldn't this 
mean that you would *not* be planning to change SLR bodies frequently, 
regardless of the brand? In which case, does it matter that Pentax has 
currently only one body on the market, while another brand has three, another 
has five or whatever?
Anyway, that's how I look at it. I have four Pentax SLR bodies that use film 
and quite a few lenses, and now also an *istD.
