My suggestion is to look for a Tamron 300/2.8 or 400/4.0 (adaptall) since you don't need AF. I have a 300/2.8 AF version (same glass as the MF version) that I was extremely lucky to find at a local dealer. Generally they show up on ebay at decent prices. This is a link to a current auction:
