That's a good price, it seems. Low demand is probably because there
are no Adaptalls that provide metering for Nikon owners, and there are
no Adaptalls that provide automatic working aperture for Canon owners. Not
mentioning that most of the APS DSLRs (except IstD) have such bad
finders that manual focus is impossible.
OTOH, Adaptall-2 in such a heavy lens might give you problems. I would
be afraid of it breaking off (the whole Tamron bayonette is rather strong,
but the locking pin is very thin...). So better look out for Tokina
ATX 300/2.8, they came in both MF and AF.
