If you're really smart, you can get your screw mounts lenses to autofocus
too. That just amazes most non-Pentax photographers.

The 1.7x is the best quality converter I have every used. My first real
experience with it was shooting long boat canoe races in Victoria, B.C. last
summer with a K85/1.8 attached (making it a 145mm f/3). I expected the
typical results: loss of contrast, images not so sharp, etc. Instead, I
couldn't even tell from the 6"x8" prints which had the TC in use!
