My reaction is "So what?" What's the story here? Where's the
train? This is just a typical, amateurish photograph, something
just barely worthy of a beginner photographer. It's like a million
other pictures of little or no significance - people standing
around, waiting on a train platform have been photographed thousands
of times, rarely to any great effect.
Maybe if the train was pulling in the photo would have more
interest, or if something were happening on the platform, or,
perhaps, if you'd have photographed the people standing in the light
instead of being silhouetted by it, or perhaps engaging them instead
of sneaking a shot behind their back. There are many ways that this
could be a better photograph. As it is, it seems as though you just
grabbed a snapshot instead of waiting for a "decisive moment" or
looking at the scene from other perspectives.
The wall on the right is obtrusive. There may be other things on
the platform that the wall obscures, and that could be interesting
or that could lend some tension or interest to the photograph.
Hiding behind the wall disengages you from the environment and the
subjects, and leaves little for the viewer.
Sorry John, this one just doesn't cut it for me.
