I'm sorry but I have to disagree with most of your comments.  A train
pulling in or out would have ruined the shot as far as I am concerned. 
The wall is needed in the shot for the correct balance.  As to "what's
the story?", well that is for you to decide.  You obviously find none,
I find several.

John,

I would have done a few things differently though.  I would have done a
6x4 landscape crop slightly tighter loosing most from the bottom and
left and printed slightly darker.  I also would have tried to loose the
person walking between the 2 in the foreground. Look here for my
version - sorry for any liberties I have taken.
