I like it very much - his pose, his expression, and your capture of it. As Amy indicated, the bow indicates a slow shutter speed.
Can you give us some specs as to film used, lens, shutter speed and aperture? And the lighting - was he on stage? Flash or no flash? The pitch-black background interests me as well. What was it? I ask because I and some others have experienced serious colored-grain problems in the background in performance shots taken under often-low stage lighting only, and no flash allowed.
