Subject: Problem mounting Vivitar 28mm 1:2 on Pentax MZ-6

Dear All,

My problem is I purchased a second hand Vivitar 28mm 1:2 Auto
Wide-Angle lens, Pentax K-mount. However the lens does not actually
go far enough into my Pentax MZ-6 camera mount to be able to rotate it
to lock into the mount. Is this a known problem with this lens/body
combination, or could it be a fault with either the lens or the
camera? I thought that any Pentax K-mount lens would be able to
attach to the MZ-6.

Isn't that the old Kiron problem?
There is a flange on the lens that interferes with mounting on some K mount bodies.
Compare the back of the problem lens to one that mounts, the flange should be pretty obvious, as it will be sticking out somewhat.
