Fred had a few pics some place at one stage however it's really not that difficult. It's advisable to do any work like this with the item removed from the lens, it will probably be attached using a set of three or so very small cross point screws. The excess flange can be cut off quite neatly using a small "eclipse" junior hacksaw and tidied using a small flat smooth file. Flat black car touch up paint could be used to re-paint the bright exposed area.
