Yes of course. It's a recognised separate trade. Highly skilled one too with it's own professional societies. Many, many photographers do/did no darkroom work at all. The fact that some amateur photographers choose to work in the darkroom is neither here nor there; if professionals spend 3/4 of their time in the darkroom then there is a case to be made that they are photofinishers with photography skills.
