Dave, the method described of selecting the file (single click) and hitting the apple + "i" then clicking on the menu in that dialogue box that says "Open with" should bring up Photoshop on any mac if it is installed on the computer or network. and the computer is running OS X.

This subject is giving me grief in college as well since our instructor
works on only MACS and I work on PC at home. The course is about
Dreamweaver. I got the impression the other day that the instructor wants
all our work to be in Dreamweaver format showing up on her system with the
Dreamweaver icon. In Windows of course this isn't going to work because
.htm or .html files are normally handled by IE or some other browser. I'm
thinking I need to actually go to the college and set this file association

will they only apply to the individual computer I'm working at?

Is there a way to set file associations on a Mac running OSX so that, for
example, clicking on a TIF file will automatically bring up PS
and open the
file?

Shel

Highlight the file, in the File Menu, click on 'Get Info' or press
Command (Apple key) + 'I' , and in the small window that opens it gives
you a choice of what to open the file with in the drop down menu. You can
also choose to open all files on your computer like the one you selected
as well, with whatever app you choose and it will apply to them.
