FWIW, I get shots of people who may be down and out, druggies, criminals, victims, etc all the time, many who do not wish to be captured, and I get paid for that. I guess that makes me a photo-mercenary or a TV whore or something.
It did bother me at one time, but not now. I live in a democracy, it's legal, bosh. Sorted. Ethically I do have issues sometimes but not overpowering enough to make me want to quit. I deal with it and carry on. Shel's pic is a classic reportage shot and no explanation is given or needed. It's a beautiful (sic) photograph and more power to the guy.
