Who gives a flying $%#% what Nikon does? Since when
do pentax features or lack thereof get measured by
what NIKON does? The *istD is a Pentax bayonet mount camera
(I wont call it K mount because it isnt really) 
and the features standard should be based on that, not Nikon
mount lenses and cameras...

Well, actually I think "nice finish" would be much more expensive than
aperture simulator lever. But I could easily exchange nice finish for
the level of compatibility with manual lenses that Nikon offers in their
D2H and D2X bodies. They both offer matrix metering and digital aperture
indication in viewfinder with manual Nikkors...
