How many digital cameras that were already "obsolete" in
1999 are still be used now (5 years later)?  Yes once
the performance and price curves flatten out people will
stick with their old digital cameras longer but I am
not convinced that has occurred yet.

I'd wager that many digital cameras that are already "obsolete" now will
still  be in use in 5 years.
