Haven't a clue ... bought a couple at one of the local photo shops. They were shrink wrapped on a card. Never noticed a problem with scratched negs, but, if there was, the scratches would have been on the leader an cut off. Some months ago, when I'd misplaced the el cheapo retrievers, I foolishly purchased one for $20.00!! It's larger, plastic, much "fancier" and I can never get it to work. It's the AP brand ... FEH!
