Cotty, man, 17C and shirt-sleeves?!?!?!?! That's our night-time winter temperature, when we all rug up in our cardies and drink hot chocolate in front of a fire (usually artificial, of course: they don't build many Queensland homes with chimneys nowadays!)

On 27/10/04, Joseph Tainter, discombobulated, unleashed:

"Bitter, bangers & mash? Did you escape from this very wet country (UK)"

No, but that's where I learned to appreciate bitter and pub food.

I had a layover in Heathrow a few weeks back. Tried to get Cotty to come
and buy me a pint and lunch -- for consideration. I offered to
recommend that he be reinstated to the list in good standing, but he
stiffed me. So although he posts here, you should know that he is not in
good standing.

Actually my wife's in Merry Old right now...being rained on, I suspect.

Joe

That Joe Tainter's a cheeky bugger.

Actually we're having a typically British week, weather-wise. First it
was cold with a touch of overnight frost, then it was stormy with gusts
to 70mph, now it's 17deg C outside and shirt sleeves. I wouldn't blink if
snow was on it's way.

And you wonder why we're a persevering lot ;-)

Cheers, Cotty
