I just got a nice black K2DMD at the San Jose Photo Fair. The seller put in a set of "new chinese batteries" The battery check led came on and remained illuminated for about two hours. The camera seemed to be functioning and the exposure meter checked very close to a Gossen digital. I was shooting a test roll when the red led went out and the camera locked up. According to some Pentax literature on the camera lockup is a "warning" that the batteries are low.
If the batteries were really fresh there must be a short or other power drain in the camera. I'll check again with more batteries. Meanwhile, do any of the sages of the list have any suggestions about this nice 1975 camera? Any suggestions of a good repair shop? Thains, Bill Lawlor
