Good idea! While not without problems, though, I don't think the TTL flash ability of the *ist-D is as bad as some folks make out. I was able to use it for external night action photography (at the ALMS race at Laguna Seca) and for interior fill flash photography (at a social event at the Computer History Museum, and at a private concert) without too many problems. I particularly liked the ability to use a custom white balance setting to correct for the bounce flash colour I got at the latter event.
