Hi Ann,
I guess we never met at Unos. Oh well, it was a nice fantasy :-). I don't think
I was ever there before '64. My mom lives in Chicago's Beverly Hills on the
Southwest side. She grew up in Hyde Park and went to Thomas the Apostle high
school on 53rd and University. I grew up in Avalon Park on the Southeast side
and went to Mendel High School in Roseland. I went to an elementary school
all-class reunion a few weeks ago. (That's when I shot Unos. Well I didn't
really shoot Uno's. I shout the billboard:-). But the reunion was a lot of fun.
It was at St. Felicitas elementary school on 84th and Blackstone. Several
hundred people showed up, including about half a dozen from the class of '37!
Six of my classmates came. I hadn't seen any of them in 40 years. Great time.
Just to keep this OT, I should add that I brought my *istD and the DA 16-45. I
thought about bringing the 50/1.4 so I could shoot available light, but it
turned out I really needed the focal length flexibility. Had to !
use the pop-up flash, but with a shutter speed of 1.30 at f4, the ambient
light was sufficient to provide okay results. However, if I had to do it again,
I'd bring my M 35/2 and shoot available light.
Paul
