I recently sent an inquiry to Sigma about their 120-300 f2.8 lens and if
it would ever be made available in a Pentax mount (I really wish they
would). I knew what the answer would be but thought I would ask anyway
especially since the design is based on the 300 f2.8 which is available
in a Pentax mount and hope springs eternal, they say. The resposne I got
was:
Dear Larry
Thank you for your inquiry. At this time we are aware of no plans to
develop Pentax (or Minolta) models of the 120-300mm F2.8 lens. Also, the
300mm F2.8 EX lens is being phased out of production.

So if you had been thinking about the 300 f2.8 I would start to think
harder about it.
