That's a downside of the CPP/CPE series processors that have been discussed.
The big problem with those is that they are designed for the same reels as
used by Jobo inversion tanks.  The ATL series of processors use much larger
diameter reels in wider tanks.  That means more chemicals are available to
avoid the problem of chemical depletion that can occur before the process
finishes when using the small diameter reels in the skinnier tanks.

The wider reels also mean that all of the film is close to the outside, none
near the centreline.  In consequence all of the film travels at a similar
speed during rotation and gets more consistent agitation from first to last
frame.  This is surprisingly unimportant with colour processing but b&w film
demands greater evenness of agitation.
