Only your children will be Jewish, Juan ... get to work if you want to join

I forgot to add, we are both quite strong atheist/agnostics (*), so
our potential children have equal chances of belonging to any
religion, with a big slant on none. When I said "Happy Hannukah" last
night, it was almost as meaningless to her as it was to me.

Unless you are a historic / or religious Jew, it _would_ be meaningless (except as a greeting to a fellow man to express your fond hope his holiday is a happy one.) Hannukah celebrates a successful battle that was and is historically significant to Jews of that time, that happened 20 _centuries_ ago! Even many Jews call it a minor holiday...

Merry week off,

(*) Interested in the phenomenon of religion to the point of studying
it, but of the idea that the question of deity is out of our capacity
and it makes no sense to tackle it on a personal level.

I suggest you look at, or better yet read, the book "What Darwin Didn't Know" by Geoffrey Simmons, M.D.
subtitled "A Doctor Dissects the Theory of Evolution."
Take your honesty pills beforehand, and really read it for making intellectual sense out of it.
It's an easy read, and an iintellectual eye-opener. No, really.
I'm a tough one, and it opened my mind to the winds...

If you do, tell me what you thought of it.
I'm always open to a discussion, privately or not.
