The redeye and other plugins I tried are all source files, meaning
plain text, but written to be compiled by a C compiler. I don't know if
the Gimp compiles these on the fly or what, but that was all I could
find--what you found... The documentation on plugins is rather specific
in that plugins may need to be compiles. Check here for more info:
