Before digital took over that area, didn't most newspaper (and wire service) 
photojournalists shoot negative film? Certainly, if not most, a significant 
number of them did so.

Also, most portrait and wedding photographers -- no, they don't shoot "for 
publication" but they certainly account for a large volume of the 
professional market, don't they, considering the huge number of weddings that 
take place?
