Sure the bowl thing works well. Glue some aluminum foil inside the bowl. When you cut the hole for the flash cut it "H" shaped

Fold the flaps back and put a heavy rubber band about them and the flash head to hold in place. Works pretty well especially if you have a flash with a remote sensor option.

that I'm going to make a smaller, portable field unit out of. Should just be able to cut a rectangular hole in the bottom
for the flash and Presto! :-)
