If it is the meter which is unpredictable, the circuit could be replaced easily.
However, if it was the shutter timing mechanisms, a fix would be difficult. :-(
My repair guy told me that MX meters were now unrepairable due to unavailability of some proprietary electronics.
I suppose a clever person could redesign the meter circuit using modern parts.
