Re: FA 50mm 1.4 back on B&H list

What about the FA 35mm f/2? B&H had it listed as backordered, and now 
it's just listed as "out of stock." Adorama has it on backorder. 
There's no DA replacement for this scheduled yet, is there? Or are 
they shifting production of this lens to the guy in Vietnam?

An FA 35mm f/2 in nearly new condition just sold on eBay for $310, 
which is $10 more than the lens sells for new (at least when it's in 
stock). The FA primes are definitely in demand (and the 35 f/2 makes 
for one nice fast standard lens on the *ist D & Ds).

That was a good deal. I saw it, and I was going to bid, but I was in 
transit when the auction ended. Good think I missed it. We would 
have bid it up.

 Ha!  B&H probably saw that those very nice lenses were going for 
as much as $255
 on ebay and decided there was life in Pentax yet!   I just got a 
pristine FA50
 1.4 bundled with a clean ZX-5n on ebay for $300 and feel it was a 
good deal. 

 It might be true, though, that the FA primes will turn out to be 
Pentax's last
 great glass and at some point you just won't be able to get them anymore.
