I now own the AF 2.8/105 EX Macro, which is excellent and only EX lens I now have.
In addition I have an old AF 4-5.6/70-300 APO Macro, which is quite good and the 3.8-5.6/28-135 IF Aspherical which is not bad at all - for an inexpensive consumer zoom - I intend to keep it and sell the 3.8-5.6/28-200 Tamron.
I have had no problems with compatibility.

What Sigma zoom lenses (EX series only) you can describe as
"good lenses" and can safely advise for the buying? Primary use -
photojournalism for the magazine (A4, A3) and for medium size prints (20x30
and 30x45 cm from the film) for the customers. I am interesting in both
wide-angle and ultrawide-angle lenses also in normal and tele-lenses.
