Just a wild guess - are your RAW files opening up as 16 bit images, and does that cause a problem for the printer or print driver?

You mentioned that the camera generated JPG's print fine - and the 8 bit vs 16 bit seems like the biggest potential difference between the JPG and RAW files. (Of course, if you open RAW files in 8 bit mode, that should not be an issue.)

Subject: Printing Raw Problems

I have recently started shooting Raw files, I have the update
browser and photolab. I convert raw files to tif and open them in
Photoshop 7 on a Mac in OS X.

I cannot get accurate colour printing to an Epson 825, the colours
are overly bright an browns become solarized reds. The same shot
printed on an old 4 colour Epson 1160 are fairly accurate if a little
muted.

Does anyone have a suggestion how to get the printed colour
space into the correct range.
