I think it was already mentioned, but a shift lens on DSLR allows you
to make very quickly panoramic or almost panoramic shots which are
very easy to stitch together. You simply shift to one side, shoot,
shift to other side, shoot, overlap the frames, or so I heard. No need
for special pano head, no need for precisely found nodal point of
lens. Even if some stitching is needed, it should be a much less
hassle than stitching frames shot the other way.
