Can't you send the camera to Pentax for repair?

I just looked on the US site and can't find the list of non-supported cameras, but this snippets from the main repair page:

"All PENTAX Imaging Company professional photographic repairs (on the LX, 645, and 67) are warranted for six months from the date of repair."

certainly suggests that they still fix LX's.

Subject: My LX: The Saga Continues

Word back from the repair shop is that it can't be repaired. Needs
parts that are unavailable.

:-(

So, I'm left with an LX that works in every way, except it won't trip
a flash. Sadly, that's one of the things I liked best about the LX:
the ttl flash metering.

But wait!

There's more!

Negotiations are underway even as we speak, between myself and a list
member, which negotiations, if successful, would place an LX in my
hands. If those discussions come to fruition, I would then have a
perfectly good LX, and I could use my current one as a flashless
backup/parts body.

So, it's all good.

cheers,
frank
