Because aside from the ability to use our existing lenses, we could all use them at their rated focal lengths, keeping backwards compatibility as one of Pentax's strong suits? Mediocre?

If Canon produces a 16MP FF camera in the $8K range, I don't see why Pentax couldn't do likewise, at a lower, slower to market price.

Apparently a market exists for such FF cameras or Canon wouldn't have developed one. One that's currently backordered at B&H.

Not trying to belabor the issue. Just trying to say I believe there is a market for such, probably with all 35mm SLR mfr's because of the abundance of legacy lenses.

Timewise, I'm not expecting such soon (or even at all) from Pentax. Just expressing my wishes.

i seriously doubt FF from Pentax is in the works for a very long time. why make a mediocre spec FF sensor body at that price when you can make a high spec one with a APS sensor? FF sensor prices aren't going to change much for at least 2-3 years.

Ahh... Thought you'd never ask...

I'd want a FF sensor, general K mount compatibility, no loss of features from the *ist D, with a minimum of double the MP of the *ist D, hopefully triple. I'd like to see improvements in buffer size and throughput, and the ability to use CF or SD would be nice.

Given that, I'd be willing to pay around 2X - 3X the price I paid for the *ist D. So assuming it was 12MP, I'd like to see a price between $3000 - $3500. If it was 18MP +/- 2MP then I'd be willing to pay $4000 - $5000.

I don't think that price point is too untenable, especially since I wouldn't expect to see something like that in the next 12 months.
