Also, the colours are not very faithful to the actual situation; the background wall is a pale blue (not painted by me!). When I increased the blue, I found it looked better with a bit more red.
I'll see whether I can do better in Elements.

The picture was shot as a jpeg, cropped, and slightly adjusted, in Irfanview (which is probably why Shel prefers that program to view it).
Being a tight-fisted Scot, I have been resisting buying PS CS (I have
Elements 2), but I suppose I am just going to have to bite the bullet and
do so if I am going to get the best out of my pictures. And also shoot
RAW.
