I found one thing curious: Phil mentioned in two places that an explanation would be elaborated on further "when Pentax supplies an instruction manual"... HMM. I downloaded the *ist DS instruction manual from the Pentax Japan website about two weeks before I received my camera.
On the whole it seems a level review. As usual, he makes more than I would of the storage card door shutting down a write, natters about whether the noise looks like film grain or color mottling, and makes a presumption about what the users might prefer, etc. Says little about. The difference between JPEG and RAW he displays seems greater than what I see, but then I haven't really done much in way of exhaustive comparison since I use RAW format most of the time.
Recommended vs Highly Recommended? I don't care. I pick what I buy based on my own evaluation...
