OK - I'll give you that. When I was resurrecting an 'old' PC (a mere 800MHz P3) as a Debian box I used an old 2GB disk I had lying around. I was thinking about adding a RAID array and turning it into a file server. 1TB NAS units have now dropped below $1K, but you can still save a bit by putting things together yourself.
