I guess that it's pretty uncommon in K-mount trim.  The screwmount version
seems to be more common, and (for some reason) I've seen more than of these
inn Konica mount than I would have guessed.

The VS1 28/1.9 is indeed a fine lens - very nice to use, and optically
brilliant.

Yes.  I've never really seen any pattern to which lenses - by model and by
year - have the extra baffle collar and which don't.  I've got old VS1
lenses with them (although I've removed 'em on most), but I have other VS1
"oldies but goodies" that seemingly never came with the extra metal...
