My local lab uses an Agfa setup to print everything digitally. I've noticed, especially when getting 120 film printed, that things like pine tree foliage turns "mushy". High contrast subjects remain very sharp , but the trees and bushes in the background often go quite mushy due to the digital compression that occurs when the film is scanned for printing. Getting prints done optically confirms the difference.
