Why not ask KEH to fix it (at their expense)? They have a good repair
department.
OTOH: The lens *does* work fine the way it is, doesn't it? If it's just
that the distance scale doesn't correctly show the distance at which the
lens is focused, that won't affect image quality. It might be worth a
partial refund from KEH, though :)
