Perhaps we should say "common" instead of "ground".

No reason why not.  This is all that's requried for basic metering in Program 
mode.  The DS doesn't seem to use the 
other "A" contacts to report f/l.  Only the "A" pin to set 
the mode.  Even with the Super Program I don't think it 
would matter as metering is a single mode.  It might make a 
big diff on the AF film bodies, though.

Because of the backward compat. between AF/K/M lenses the
levers all move the same distances.  Nothing internal
to worry about. All that needs to be done is to set the 
lens @ f22.  It will stop down as requested.

Making "A" pin contact by whatever method should provide the
same net result.  Because all "A", "F", and (iirc) early "FA"
lenses are "stupid" lenses.

So ... 
Does anyone have a K lens that I could obtain & play with?  
Perhaps 55/1.8 in trade for St. Ansel?
