Hi,

Actually, Adams was looking forward to what he called "electronic"
photography, and I'm sure he'd have developed some great techniques using
Photoshop. The problem, as I see it, with a lot of the yahoos "developing"
various techniques for photographers is that they, themselves, have never
been photographers, or worked in a darkroom, or made their own prints. I'm
not saying that's an absolutely necessary requirement, but it does seem an
important consideration - at least for me.

To me, it's like trying to learn archery by using an Uzi. You get a similar end point but the methodology is dramatically different.

The "Duke of Digital" has left out a very important step in the technique
Dave referenced, and it will have a deleterious effect on the results.

now *that* is a bullshit...

If I were Ansel Adams (and luckily I'm not, I'm still alive) I'd have
some serious comments about it. But I'm not, so just silly comments
from me.
