I would actually find it more convenient on the back.
The best thing would be if on the -DS the color LCD could be used as a
super data LCD with real time info.

On the -DS the AF segments should (as an option) stay lit when subject
is in focus, the Focus OK thing at the bottom is hard to see and forces
us to look down and not at the subject.

Does Pentax accept any form of feedback from user for firmware
improvement suggestions? I have other suggestions for little user
interface improvements to the -DS and we could make a list.

I also felt that when I checked the Canon, but with most lenses the -DS
focuses fast enough. The instant manual focus push button on the DS is
also very convenient and the Canon does not have that.
