the fact that you have captured a specific image is imposing a truth already. if i were there at the same time, i might choose to aim my camera in a different direction, use a different exposure, use a different focal length, and so on. there is no truth in photography, just as there no truth in art, just a point of view.

It's sacred unless you're up front about what you did. Otherwise the image is a fake and the person who is presenting it is a fraud.

What should be sacred is truth. Show your doctored images by all means but warn the viewer that they aren't real.
