Here's more: Actual photos! I did a very quick shoot in the garden last night. Light was getting low so I just got off a couple of shots at 210mm (that's 357mm with the teleconverter, the equivalent of 535mm on a film camera!), 1/8th second and f/4.5 (f/7.7 because of the teleconverter) with the camera resting on the arm of a chair. There was a bit of a breeze, but I selected the 100% crop area from a group of plants that seemed to be pretty motionless and that were within the very thin depth of field. Here's the full frame (the entire scene), resized for the web: http://www.robertstech.com/temp/fullfram.jpg Here's a 100% crop (actual pixels): http://www.robertstech.com/temp/crop.jpg I converted the RAW files in Photoshop. Very small amount of unsharp mask applied after conversion. Given the relatively wide aperture, DOF and the long exposure time, I'm *very* impressed with the results. I'll have to try some tripod-mounted shots with smaller apertures soon. -- Mark Roberts Photography and writing www.robertstech.com
