Not any more. Like the rest of the world, the list has turned more and more toward digital. However, it's been a film list for quite some time and most (if not all) digital shooter members were once film shooters. Quite a few of us still shoot both digital and film.
That gives you the benefit of experience then. I suppose that most of the things that I'm struggling to understand (like f/stops) were learned long ago by slr users.
I have to say, for a new dslr user it's like trying to decipher the ceremonies of an ancient craft - a bit like turning up for dinner at a Masonic lodge and not understanding what all the odd handshakes and cryptic references mean.
If I'd known just how complicated it was all going to be I might have thought twice before laying out the price of the ransom for a minor African king on equipment!
Perhaps it's because I'm getting to the age when my brain cells are looking for a peaceful retirement, and stubbornly refuse to accommodate any new knowledge.
