I've never owned a film slr
EW> Ah........is this more of a traditional slr, rather than a dslr,
place?
See? See? Where does the newfangled digital revolution take us? Soon,
new members even won't know what the BROTHERHOOD was, and the MIGHTY
LX WINK will be only done secretly in the dead of the night...

P.S.:
:-) Ethical Web, welcome, but is there a more normal name to call you
with?
Thanks........I'm John (that's pretty normal, I think...) and I've amended
my Email to reflect my invitation to the party..
Actually, I'm The Future......one of the hordes of completely unskilled Auks
who are now rampaging through Middle Earth waving their fully automated
computer-cams-with-built-in-coffee-maker-and-FM-stereo-radio.....
A prime target, in fact, for the camera manufacturers who want to relieve us
of as much disposable cash as they can - and who are beavering away making
cameras that are simple enough for even the dimmest Auk to use
I've noticed that Pentax are following the trend, and their three dslr's
seem to have been a progression in simplicity - one feels that the logical
result of all this will be a wheeled camera that can be sent out on its own
to find and take whatever photo's it deems suitable.. with no need for its
owner to leave the comfort of his/her chair...
So, (adopts humble posture) I've decided that I do want to learn how to use
my *stD 'properly' - while there is still a camera available that actually
allows users to interfere with the delicate controls.
