Well, Sigma makes its lenses to work with other manufacturer's bodies
(since there are not many Sigma bodies around), so they logically ~have~
to be nice to Pentax (etc.) users.

On the other hand, Pentax does not support the use of its bodies with
3rd-party lenses - after all, Pentax wants you to buy jen-you-wine Pentax
lenses. So, I would ~not~ expect Pentax to offer friendly advice about how
to properly use any Sigma lens on a Pentax body.  However, Pentax should
~not~ be rude to you - the reply should say "sorry", but it should be a
polite "sorry (in my humble opinion) - rudeness will not win additional
Pentax sales (either for bodies or for lenses or for accessories).

That's my two f-stops worth...
