A *few* comments here:

- For most things in life, 90% of the problems come from 10% of the
situations. [Oh shit, I know what this will end up...]

- The AF works in *most* circumstances. It fails where your eye might
fail too, and in that case you can at least hold at an angle; what
   will you do with MF?

I can't recall recent problems focusing with MF cameras.

Moreover, with compatible flashes, (OK, within
a reasonable distance) it autofocuses in *extreme* lack of light.

Don't use flash.

Don't have to; the AF beam in some models can work without flashing. It allows you to take pictures in complete darkness, where no MF skill will help unless a cat or an owl.

Have you tried to MF a 5.6 lens? How well do you focus your M75-150
at 150 (particularly with a split finder)?

What's a 5.6 lens? I've never used anything that slow.

This means the "use faster lenses" comment you dislike does not apply to you anyway.

- You can always MF with an AF camera. You don't have to adapt
anything to this camera; even the shutter speed is where you like it
(and of course lacks bloody half-stops as a result; look at the pain
   we suffer for you :-))))))

What do you maen by the camera lacking 1/2 stops? No need to suffer apin
for me. Just take two aspirin, drink plenty of fluids, and call me in the
morning ;-)))

All the aspirin in the world won't take away my pain... :-)))

I mean that with the rocker and wheel designs you can set the shutter speed to half-stops (eg 1/45); with the traditional interface of the (eg) Ks and Ms, shared by the -5n you can't.

Simple to achieve all of that on the -5n; all VF info is *out* of the
way. And it winds and brackets on its own.

Do you mean to say that after I snap a pic the camera will wind to the next
frame automatically? If so, can that feature be turned off?

No. Nor can you prevent it from winding the film after it ends, or leave the leader out.

How do you shoot the Sony?

Mostly in aperture priority or manual mode.

I thought we were talking AF.

But regardless, I never said I
really liked the way the Sony worked in a lot of situations. It was
purchased mainly for snaps and eBay, and I knew from the beginning it was
going to be worthless in many situations that I like to photograph.

The main difference is that the -5n is useful in most situations :-)
