because Kodak has lots of troubles of its own to work out yet. the current road to steady profitability for Kodak is to continue to expand its #1 market share in the US to #1 in the world instead of #3, and drop its film business. Kodak has made its market share in the US by concentrating on the low end buyers, women with not enough time and no desire to play the camera or the images, and giving up on the high end by stopping production of medium format backs and DSLR bodies. when its a choice between cool gadgets and the bottom line, the bottom line wins.
